This week we will take a Basic Combo and show you how to make it more Ninja. Combo #5 is Jab, Cross, Lead Uppercut, Cross, Hook. Start off by just building up from the 2 Hands. Next add on the Uppercut, and then the Cross, Hook. Start off stationary, make sure to make all the punches count. Once you have that down add some sprinkles with Jab, Pull, Cross, Lead Uppercut, Alley Cross, and Hook.
Start of with slipping the jab. Now add the alley jab on the half count. Now start off with slipping the cross. Now add the alley cross on the half count. Once you have it down lets alley jab then alley cross step quarter turn 2 hands. Now you have that down add the the double jab and the cross hook closing distance. Add on the low kick now. Whole drill is alley jab, alley cross, quarter turn 2 hands, double jab, cross, hook, low kick. What are you learning, good defense, how to counter off the head movement on the half count. Taking angles, closing the distance, and finishing long.
Start off with 3 Hands (Jab, Cross, Hook) one-for-one. Once everyone is synched up we'll add the defense so the Jab will become a Jab Parry and then Cross and hook. Next we'll add-on an Alley Cross and Hook. Make sure you're changing levels on the Alley Cross so your partner's Cross goes over your shoulder. Next we'll defend and counter the Overhand by Parrying it with the rear hand and coming back with Hook and Cross. The final piece for the flow is to defend and counter the Lead Hook by Parrying it with the lead hand and coming back with Overhand, Liver, and Low Kick. Now add on the switch lead high kick while getting the angle. We also reviewed the Dutch Drill versions 1 & 2. Go ahead and apply the hand fighting an head movement with the Dutch Drills.
Start off 3 hands 1 for 1. The 2 Body is 3 hands, but the cross goes to the body. Let's add on the 2 body. So 3 hands, 2 body low. Once you are comfortable now slide back off the low kick, now when they come to attack you time their lead foot and hit the drive by. Full flow is 3 hands, 2 body low, slide back drive by.
This week I am covering knees and countering punches with knees.
